We went to Michigan for Cherry Picking on Sunday.
Lesson 1: When Hubby says that it will take over an hour, it means 1 hour and 59 minutes. Unfortunately, i thought it would be something like 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The kids were feeling OK when we started out, despite the rain.
Lesson 2: No matter how hard it rained at home, it is very possible that you will get a sunny sky not too far away.
We were very glad that we did not give up our plan. The car was filled with music, giggling in the first hour or so. Then both kids got impatient. Yaya even said she would not care whether we go for cherry or not in the rest area.
Lesson 3: Never think that the kids will appreciate it just because that you have been trying hard. Yaya said that it was not too much fun for her, after she jumped around and helped picking cherries from the trees.
Overall lesson: Kids will be content as long as being taken to a nearby park. It is not a good idea to stuck them in a car for two hours and expect them to still be thrilled about something. The long trip wiped them out.
