"come on"
I was following Peter around in Children's museum. After playing with blocks for a while, he followed another tot and his mom into the music room. Then he began to use the strikes to hit the drums and all kinds of stuff there to compose "music". After some while, that mom called on her kid and asked him to go play somewhere else. Peter followed them, heading out of the music room, when he noticed that, I, was still standing still. Peter turned around, looked at me, and said "come on, mommy, let's go!"
"Funny"
Peter woke up and tossed himself on bed for a while. Then he began to say "臭-屁-屁"(yucky butt) over and over again. I know he wanted to be changed but still did not respond right away. Then Peter altered his word, "mama---臭,--xx" At first I could not figure out what was the last word he said, then he kept changing his subject "mama---臭,--xx" "baba---臭,--xx" "Yaya---臭,--xx" and well, it turned out what he was saying was, "mama---臭,--funny"...
Later in the day, Peter began to do the "go away" thing again for each one in the family. Since he has been calling "Yaya" ever since he could talk, it seems not quite clear to him what "jiejie"(sister in Chinese) really means. When he said "jiejie, go away" and "Yaya, go away" respectively, Yaya told him to say "Yaya jiejie, go away". After a brief pause, instead, Peter followed as "Yaya jiejie, go away, hahaha, funny!"
counting
Peter was learning to say words after me, when I began to say "one". Instead of following me, he said "two". Yeah? I felt amuzed and continued, "three" "t-h-r-e-e" "four"he followed me "four""five"...until "seven", he did not say "seven", instead, he said "eight"!
Then in Chinese, he was able to pick up a couple of digits all by himself.
--Though I am sure he knew nothing about what we were doing, but still quite a discovery he could do this.
"yuck"
Peter was standing in front of me and suddenly he found some stain on my pants. He started to use his little fingers to try to scrub it, but at the same time, he said "mama yuck!"
"Bye..bye.."
I was putting coats on both kids in front of the main gate of the daycare building, when a parents held a little girl of Peter's age stepping by. All of a sudden, Peter began to yell" Kate, Kate, bye..bye" That parent did not pay any attention to us, opened the door and left. Then we came into the parking lot too, and they were still there. This time, Peter walked up to them, pointed to the little girl and repeated, "Kate, Kate, bye.." Of course that dad heard him this time and gave him quite a praise. Turns out his daughter's name is Kate and she is in the same class as Peter.
Say it once
Since when mommy always asks Peter "more?" and Peter finds himself always needs to answer "yes", now Peter decides that whenever he wants more, he says " more, yes; more yes.." so that save time for mommy.
Peter was asking for a candy and I asked "what do you say if you want mommy to go and get you one?" Yaya helped "say 'please'". Peter answered my question then, " p-lea--se, xiexie!(thank you in Chinese)"
