Now that Yaya is 4 and a half, she is really big, and her happiness is no longer solely based upon her parents.
Tonight, Yaya spend over 3 hours at Hairong's house(who lives in the neighborhood). Hairong has a son of 6 and a half, Eddie, and today, she had a lot of vistors, including one of Yaya's previous friend from the old daycare--Yifan. So ever since Yaya learned about this fact, she declared that she would not go to library or park with us, instead, she wanted to drop by. Well, it was not very easy for mom and dad to have a peaceful mind with her staying there all by herself. But I think it is time for us to let go. Hairong always does a good job hosting, and i was told that Yaya ate well for dinner. Yaya, obviously had a very special night hanging out with those boys, and she gladly described her night at bedtime. When being asked "did you miss Peter? Mommy? Daddy?" Her answer was firm and fast "No!" Well, she is not that clingy little girl any more.
Yesterday, we spent most of the day at Xiaojun's house. Not only did we enjoy the homemade dumplings, the kids had tons of fun too. Peter, instead of following his sis around as he always does, played by himself for quite some time. We could hear him giggling, or even laughing while manipulating the toys, running around the house. Yaya, once again, was so busy chatting and playing with Yaoyao all around or in the basement, that I did not even remember she got close to us adults. I guess she must have been very impressed that there were so many spaces they could hang out, today, she asked me "why mingming's house is so big, ours is so small?"
Yaya was really funny this afternoon before we left for the library. I asked her to go to the bathroom, but she said she did not have to go. Then I insisted, so there she went. Then we heard the noise of toilet being flushed, and she ran out like a happy little bird. I could really feel there's something going on with that little heart and therefore said"Yaya, go back and please pee for me, and remember never try to lie to mommy because I can tell everything". It was too bad that I could not record the expression on her face right at the moment. She smiled, peeking at us with some shyness, then with no complaint this time, she went back to the bathroom and did her business.
