1. Our son, Peter, gave us a present for him turning 19-month. He insisted staying out the whole morning on Sunday doing some cleaning-ups with temperture below 40F and 15mph wind.
2. Friend's family came over. We could not figure out why, but Peter was never very happy. Maybe due to over-tiredness, maybe he was a little under the weather, anyway, he was whining and walking towards me, when out of nowhere, he passed me--the mom with widely opened arms, walked straight up to my friend, called her aunt in Chinese and required to be held up. Then, he happily rested his big head on friend's shoulder, never even gave me a peek. It happened so many time for the day that I was pretty sure that all of a sudden he found his real mom and lost interest in me.
3. Tonight, Lei was chatting with me when the kids were playing by themselves. Lei asked me whether I noticed that Yaya's face has become a little chubby lately. Even before I got to answer, Yaya stopped what she was doing and became very upset. Later, she told me she did not want to be chubby or fat, no matter how hard I explained that it is actually a good thing for kids to be a little chubby.
