Praise by teacher

One of Peter's teachers has some pretty high opinions about him.

1. Once Peter wanted to play with some soft toys hang on the wall in a bag, but he was too short to get a hold of the bag. The teacher found him looking around, then walking towards a big paper block, trying to step onto the block to take off the toy bag. Peter was said to be so smart to have had such a good idea.

2. Today, the kids were given some time to "draw" with markers. Even though he is almost the yongest in the classroom(there's one boy who is 3 days younger than him), he was found to be the only one who can take the cap of the marker off and put it back on all by himself. The teacher said "it is amazing that he can do that at this age"

I should add some to this list since our Peter is really so extraordinary (at least to us).

While we were talking about friend's son who knew how to open a can with a spoon at the age of two and a half , we soon noticed that Peter was heading into the kitchen, opened a drawer above his head and very easily grasped a spoon and took it out.

While being described as an impatient, obsessive toddler most of the time, Peter sometimes has unbelievable patience and be so good to his sister. We found several times that Peter would just sit quietly beside Yaya when he was told to wait for his turn, watching her playing or manipulating some toys. He did not even try to grad the toy, (which made me think he did not desperately want it) but the seond Yaya's done, his hands could take over the toy before it even touched the floor--I guess he was actually fully alert to this all of the time.

Every morning Peter is the first one woke up. The thing he wants to do the most afterwards is to get his sister up, but unfortunately Yaya normally has one and a half hour more sleep. When finally he is allowed to go in Yaya's room, he will climb up the bed, lie down next to her and then put his arm around her neck.

Not so good at talking yet, Peter is excellent in using different tongues. The same "Ahh", Peter uses it when he wants to surprise you, when he is irritated and screaming, when he is satisfied and want you to know that he is happy. Without seeing him, just from the way he "ahh"s, I know what is happening.

Peter likes to watch cartoon. Whenever he wants to watch TV, he will hand me the remote. Then he hand me another one if he does not like the program. When I bend down to put in a DVD or VHS, he usually walks up to me and watch. The right moment I get everything ready, put the disk in, he turns away rapidly and runs back to the sofa. Yes, run actually, like try to get a seat before it is taken.

I guess I can go on and on forever, I love this age, I love my son.
