Packing week was tiring and busy

Monday: I was all done at work except that a group lunch was scheduled at noon. I wanted to treat my boss and my labmates. My boss, an American in his sixties, has been very nice and kind. He respected me and valued me, and sometimes consulted me as if i were the expert. Working with him, overall was the greatest experience so far in my life. Coz he let me feel that i am important and smart. Of course i had some down time too. But that is normal. One minor complaint is that he never wanted us to write papers, in his words, "let me enjoy the fun part of being a faculty, please". He is slow, but what can you say? Anyway, no one expected Peter turned out to be sick in the morning and Lei said he could come back at noon so that i can step out for lunch. sounded good. But when Lei showed up, he said that his boss might possibly call him sometime in the afternoon, therefore, I need to come home quick. While, my boss, on the other hand, could not make it to the lunch until 1pm. Therefore, I, ended up calling for an emergency part-time babysitter in the lab. Thank god she agreed to take care of Peter and let Lei go.

Tuesday-Thusday: either drove down to our new place to clean up, or stay at home packing, washing. Since I was not working, i was cooking everyday. Funny that the last week we ate home-made food.

Friday: I drove to the new place with most kitchen stuff. then shopped for the kids to get some food for them. Lei came at noon from work too, with important files and stuff. He was able to set up Peter's crib and our new bought couch. Then in the afternoon, we had to rush back to the daycare since it was our kids' last day. Peter's class was having a party. More in the next post.
