Holidays are over!
I was swamped with holiday and didn't even get time to blog. Looking back, it was not bad.
On 28th, Lei and I drove to the airport to say goodbye to one of my best friend's family. They relocated back to China after staying at Kentucky for 2 years. In the afternoon, we went to see a movie" have fun with Nick and Jane". it is a comedy, i didn't realize that i am so much into comedy now. I found myself laugh loudly in the middle of it. Lei said that i was even in a unusually good mood that night.
On 30th, we sent the kids to daycare, though i didn't have work, and Lei took his day off. We went out for lunch and watched another movie---the famous "King Kong". This time, Lei enjoyed it. I, liked the romantic part of it, but was really nervous about those episodes where human beings fighting with ugly beasts. After dinner, we took both kids to swim. As expected, we had so much fun with Yaya's friend's family. Peter, according to Lei, even enjoyed his shower with daddy. Maybe it was the movie, or maybe i was just too tired, i didn't sleep well that night and was very sick the next day.
On 31st, we visited one of Yaya's friend's family at noon. The reason is that another girl who used to play with these two girls came in town to visit from Washington, DC. It was fun to see all three of them have grown so much after a year, and they still remember one another and played well. Also, I was impressed by Yaya's table manner, though we never even trained her. Just quote one of the parents"she is still so neat, as she has always been.."
The new year day is an unexpected gathering of four Chinese families. We had a very long lunch together. Both Yaya and Peter were eating well and very happy. Yaya showed friends how open she is now, truly reversed the impression they had about her. We had a fun time chatting, joking too, though my headache never left me alone.
So the second day of 2006, we sent the kids to school again, despite my guilty feelings. Lei accompanied me did some shoppings and then we had a very comfortable lunch together in a Korean restaurant. Without any stop, we decided to head for "IKEA". Being in the United States for over five years, neither of us has ever been to a furniture store. What a shame. We were so excited about what we found in the store and began to plan what we will purchase if, i mean if, we get a house... It was fun! But God knows when we will buy a house...
Last night, Lei asked about my new year resolutions, i have none. Only some wishes. Just wish we all can stay well and good luck to our family.
