We took the kids to Didier pumkin farm yesterday. We all, especially Yaya had a good time despite of the rain. This year she is really old enough for a lot of fun. As soon as we parked, she saw the horses and strongly requested to go pony riding. It was cold and i refused to let Peter stay outside. We stayed in a big cafe and Peter was so curious about the decorations for Halloween. Also, he was very happy to see so many kids around, actively following people's movement with his eyes. Finally he was too tired and dozed off on my shoulder. Poor Lei, he had to go out with Yaya to let her try everything she wanted to. They came in once in a while for some hot drink, then went back out. One can not help be influenced by the high mood of kids and i found almost all the parents were so happy too, even though it must be hard for them too, taking the kids out on such a cold and rainy weekend.

It was Yaya's third time to a pumkin farm. The first year we went to one in Wisconsin. She was like 3 or 4 months old. I had fun, not she. They had all kinds of cartoon setup, using the dried grass. I took a lot of pictures and we printed out and hang on the wall close to Yaya's crib. But i doubt whether she was old enough to even notice them. Then the second time, she was old enough to walk around, but she was so scared that refused to feed the sheep. (this year, still she didn't seem to enjoy the pets feeding accoding to Lei, only stood around the chicks for a while with me) But she did touch those huge pumkins, even though she had little idea what they were for. We also took a ride around the farm, and she was a little excited about the trip. Now, this year, she was much more mature---knew exactly what are pumkins for and bought four small ones to take home painting, got a funny pumkin paint on her face and not let us wash it away, did pony riding, took a train drive with daddy, asked to do more bouncing on the bouncing bed, however, it was closed becaused of the rain, ....

I hope next year, when we go to pumkin farms, Peter will be running around too.
