One can never anticipate what a kid will do. They like routines, but also like to give you some surprise.
This morning, Yaya said "No" unexpected at drop-off when i asked her to pick up a book and wait for the teacher to read(this was the routine). Instead, she wanted to eat breakfast with her friends.---even better for me! She already ate at home, but who cares?
Yaya wanted me to hold her a little when she is fussy or tired. But one day, Lei was in the middle of something and i was holding Peter while sitting on the couch. She asked if i could hold her a little and i said "Yes", while stretching my right arm out for her. But out of all our expectation, she said, "no, i don't want you to hold me with this arm, because your right wrist hurts." Wow, what can makes you feel better than your kid begin to weigh your comfortness over his/her own?
Yaya used to like to listen to us reading her books. Nowdays, she begins to "read" herself after one of us read it once for her. Sometimes when Lei is reading to her, all of a sudden, she will say"no..., it should be...." After listening to her complaint patiently, we finially realize that she is complaining about our English pronunciation---we have to admit, she, really, is much better than both of us. And lately, she begins to test me while in the car about my Chinese-English translation ability. And believe it or not, she seems to have a bigger vocabulary about English nouns than I. :-(
As parents, not only do we need to buy clothes constantly because the kids keep outgrow of them, we also need to change our impression about our little ones frequently---they grows so fast, too!
