周五和丫丫的老师conference. 转眼又是半年过去,还有一个月不到孩子们的kindergarten生涯就要结束了。老师对丫丫的评价,一如既往地,让我们这些做父母的感到无比的骄傲和自豪。
Reading至少达到了小学三年级的水平。我把大部分的credit给老师,因为毕竟kindergarten前,丫丫读书还属于看着画“自由发挥”阶段。可老师说:“I want to take the credit, but I can't. She just got it and she kept going further and further..."
Maths方面丫丫不仅掌握了counting, patterning等简单的概念,还掌握了利用竖式进行3,4位以上任意数字的加法,简单的非借位减法。乘法,除法虽然尚处于初级阶段,但乘除的概念很明确。对于奇偶数及跳位数数也有很清楚的认识和很快的反应。老师说,”very often, I have to tell her to stay quiet before I start to ask a question; otherwise, there is no way i can figure out how many other kids have got it, because she can say it all and no one else needs to think." "Believe me, when I ask questions right after the introduction of a new definition, most of the kids will just turn to her for the answer..."对于时间的概念已经不仅仅限制于整点,和半点,据老师说,丫丫是她经常委托去看看几点几分的一个可靠的依靠。对于不同coin之间的换算也了如指掌。
Writing一向是丫丫的最爱。老师拿出去年9月刚开学时丫丫的journal和这个月的journal让我们比较。让人amazed的是那时很多letters还都是写成backward的丫丫,如今已经开始一段一段地写“文章”了。老师还提到之所以孩子们的journal book由半页图半页字的格式换成整页整页的writing table,"mainly was because of her. It turned out to me that she needed a lot more spaces to write.."
Physical方面,丫丫一如既往地是那个very well cordinated的孩子,速度快,力量强。和我们的观察一样,老师也认为丫丫不是个aggressive的player,这个方面我们还是应该再work on.
最最重要的,当然也是我们最最引以为荣的,是丫丫善良的性格。虽然有自己最好的朋友,但基本上可以和任何一个小朋友友好相处,老师的话,是班里每一个人的friend.很有自己的一套解决冲突,当然很少与人有冲突。
作为父母,虽然也知道美国的老师总是拣好听的说,但不得不说,conference完,我们俩还是,美滋滋,美滋滋的。
