Peter has been doing unexpectedly well during the transition to 2's room even though both his toddler teacher Nicole and I are still waiting to see what will happen once the "honeymoon" passes.
I was told that he did cry once this afternoon in the playground. Seeing a boy was pulling his sister in the bigger playground across the fence, Peter lost his tears in protesting against the boy. Well, no one can blame him for that, right?
But in the everning, it became funnier when Yaya told us the story:
"Peter saw me in the playground and wanted to talk to me. So I was leaning against the fence when Tony came to pull me--he just wanted me to play with him, but Peter thought he was trying to hurt me and he began to cry out loud. "
"Then what happened, Yaya?"
"Mr. Rick (Yaya's teacher) was with the 2's, so I told him that Peter is crying."
"And?"
"Mr. Rick asked Peter to take a deep breath...."
At this point, I began to laugh, "what? Mr. Rick told Peter to what?"
"Mr. Rick told Peter to take a deep breath, but Peter did not understand what it meant, and he cried and cried..."
I laughed, well, a good preschool teacher does not mean a good toddler teacher, does it?
