Once in a while, hubby will be the one who puts Peter to bed. But whenever he does that routine--reading stories and lying down with Peter, nine out of ten times he will fall asleep with him before 8pm. Anyway, last night was one of those and he slept like a log when I went in to check on Peter, which, woke him up unfortunately.
Huby lay down with me, and I told him in Chinese that we were getting sleet(冰雹). The I asked him,
--How do you call 冰雹 in English?
--Bing Bao(the pronunciation of the Chinese characters)
I laughed.
--At least you can try "ice ball", it is better than "Bing Bao".
He laughed too. Then I told him,
--It's called "sleet"
--what? "sleep"?
Then I knew how sleepy he was.
Neither of us could fall asleep. Then I got up and checked--well, the storm was not coming and there's not much snow on the ground yet.
--I don't know why I am so excited about snowing.
--Me too. (hubby said so)
--Maybe I just want a big snow so that we can play out and make a snowman for the kids.
--Lets' go.
Hubby said so. Well, besides laughing this time, I knew his brain was not really working, was it?
