"Bye, bye"

Peter does not like to leave. From school, he does not like to go home. In the morning, he refuses to go to school.

So now comes the time. He always glances at me when I open the door to his classroom, then he turns around and continues to do whatever he was doing, rocking a chair, playing blocks, dancing, etc, as if he does not know me at all. Then, teachers remind, I call, all you can expect from him is "No". Finally I say, "if you don't go, mommy will go home alone, OK?" Immediately he replies "bye-bye!" with his beautiful, loud voice.

Peter wants to be around adults most time in the morning until 2 minutes before everyone is getting ready to go. He sets out to play on his own. Everyone calls his name, tells him he can finally go OUTSIDE, he does not care. OK, Yaya and I head to the car. Lei says" if you don't go, we will leave for school without you, OK?" Peter raises his head and waves to Lei "bye-bye", together with his biggest, sweetest smile. Lei closes the door, 1 minute, 2 minutes... nothing happens.. Lei can not wait any longer and opens a little, peeks through the door, Peter lifts his eyes and says again "bye---" Then back to his own business.

Lei told me that he loves Peter even more though he can sometimes be so naughty.

P. S. This evening we got new development. After getting the kids and all our stuff out of the car, Yaya and I began to walk towards our door. Then I turned back and found our Peter was still standing there, with our car. I was trying to say something, you know, to ask him to go with us to home, but before I started, Peter waved to me and said "Bye-bye, mama".
