Brookfield Zoo

That's where we were last Sunday. It was an overwhelming trip, because we saw some spectucular scences.

We arrived early, hoping to escape the sun. It was smart to go to the jungle animals first---they were all in a fresh mood. We were able to get close to leopards, tigers, bears, and lion. The lion actually went up to us and there's only one layer of glass between us and the lion (which, really reminded me of a previous experience when Lei and I visited Yellowstone National Park and our car was stopped by a team of buffaloes)! Morever, the lion roared several times, loudly, which really excited Peter. (Peter loves lions.) I felt a little scared to have those giant animals so close, but the kids were thrilled.

In Children's zoo, Yaya and Peter both brushed the sheep, watched milk being squeezed out of a goat, Yaya even got to stare at some pig's poop(yuck!). Ducks become very common to them since we can see everyday at home. The kids were exhausted when we left after lunch. Peter had a over 3-hour nap that afternoon. I am glad that Peter now is old enough for all kinds of fun.
