We visited an Indian friend's family on Saturday. It has been alomst a year since we last visted as a whole family. When the couple saw Peter, they were commenting how small he was last year. So, this time, Peter no longer agreed to stay on the sofa, even for a single second. He wanted to be the center of attention, instead. Like all of a sudden, the adults noticed TV was muted, changing channel, someone's drink being taken, etc, it was all Peter. He walked up and down the living room, trying to explore every single piece that he was able to get his hand on. He sat on the stairs, giving us funny faces to let adults laugh about. Also, from time to time, he would lift up his shirt to show off his big, fat tummy. He seemed to understand that we were amused by him, and kept doing different stuff to entertain us. After lunch, friend's wife offered some special--chocolate coated, bite-size ice cream. Peter loved it. He would grab the piece from her hand, put in his mouth at the same time of walking away from her, finished in a second, then turned around and walked back to her with his palm opening and hand rising up in the air to ask for another one. He ate one after another, until everyone thought he should have had enough, because he obviously slowed down eating. Friend's wife went to the kitchen to put the ice cream away. Soon, Peter noticed she was gone and he still wanted more, he looked around, then happily toddled to the kitchen following instructions to catch friend's wife. When he was granted another piece, he came back, with a big smile on his face, to let us adults laugh more..... It was really fun to watch him, he was absolutely cute. Of course, in the end, he gave everyone a hug goodbye upon request.
P.S. There's a funny story about Yaya too when I came back home on Saturday night.
Me: Yaya, do you know that guy who was with XX at YY's house today?
Yaya: No, I don't. Who is he?
Me: He is XX's husband. XX recently got married.
Yaya: Mommy, are you married?
Me: Yeah.
Yaya: to whom? daddy?
Me: Yes.
Yaya: When did you guys get married? Why didn't you take me with you so that I could see?
Me: Eh, eh... (for a minute I lost words) We married a long time ago before you were even in mommy's tommy. Because people have to get married first, then they can have babies. (I know my answer is wired.)
Yaya:(with a very sad face and tongue, red eyes, almost crying) But why didn't you wait until I am older to get married? I want to be in your wedding..
Me: Uh, uh, (I lost my nerve again)... What about we do something to make up? ..
I forgot how I got out of that conversation. But one thing I remembered was that my little girl was so upset about not being there in our wedding.
