Too occupied to consider going to bed
It has been a long time since i last complained about Peter's sleeping. The reason is that he was doing so well, sleeping through the whole night without much trouble and as a bonus of sleeping training, after bath and feeding every night, all i need to do was put him in his crib. In less than 2 minutes of talking by himself, he would be out--Oh, how nice those days were!
Now, he is in another development stage, i guess. He becomes so curious in the world around him and begins to refuse naps and sleeps. This week we have the worst case. I think in some way i did something not too good trigged his bad habit. On Monday, he got three immunization shots. That night, he was a little warm and did not eat well. Without a bottle, he went to sleep. So, in the early morning, I gave him a bottle when i should not have. Tuesday he was very cranky at school, and was picked up at 2pm. Again, he showed no appetite and that night i gave him a bottle again, trying to help ease his empty stomache . So yesterday, he woke up early in the morning at 5:30am, refusing to go back to bed after a bottle. I thought he would nap a lot, but was told he only took a one-hour morning nap form 10 to 11. Surprising, he was still so energetic and happy after i picked them up at 5pm. I put him down around 6:30pm, out of ordinary, he cried for 20 min but still awake. It was too hard for me to let him carry on crying, and i had to get him out of his bed. He returned to running around right away. At 8pm, he finally accepted his bottle and dozed off soon after. But this morning, again, he woke up at 5am and no matter what we did, he just could not fall asleep. Susan(his teacher) told me the same thing at school, she was a little concerned that he did not nap therefore tried to put him in his crib, but he would cry like hell. So today, he stayed happy until 1:30pm. The thing is that whenever he wakes up, even at 5 in the morning, he talks so clearly"zou, zou(go in chinese)" If you don't get up and get him, he will shout, yell, scream. If being picked up, he will point to the door and lead whoever is holding him to the spot he wants to go.
I don't mind him playing more and sleeping less as long as he is energetic, but i am feeling a little nervous that he will get sick again once he is physically ehausted.
