Stay home with the kids

The daycare was closed in observation of Matin Luthur King's day on Monday. I stayed home with Peter and Yaya. The broadcast said it would be warmer (~40F), but when we arrived the park, it felt so cold and windy. Yaya was like a caged bird being set free, happily flying all around the park. She now is very confident about doing the monkey bars all by herself. Also, she could move quite some distance with her strong arms and then jumped onto the ground. (She really grows a lot ever since Peter arrived) We headed back after 10 minutes out since i noticed both of them were having teary eyes and got nose running already.
We spent the rest of the morning in the playroom at the basement of our building. By time around 11:30am, both kids seemed just bored and we decided to have an early lunch. Peter simply had no appetite at all, while Yaya ate most of the lunch and fruit i served. They went back to play right away, this time they were able to stay away from me and gave me some time to grab some food for my stomach. It was nice to hear them giggling and talking in the bedroom, though i had to check on them over and over again to make sure Peter didn't do anything unsafe. By the time Peter went down for his nap, i found my own eyes just could not wait any longer to get closed up. After a little rest, I had to get up since Peter was crying in his sleep, then Yaya woke up right after Peter went back to his nap. We read around 10 books together before Peter woke up again and then the kids had some fruit snacks. Around 4pm, we went to the local library. Both kids enjoyed staying in the library, not reading much, but playing around with other kids there. Unfortunately we had to leave for home after Peter got a poop. Once back home, i guess they felt bored soon with no playmates, they both acted whiny and clingy and the day did not end for me until 9pm, i finally got some dinner for myself. A long day.
I feel so lucky that i will come to work today, otherwise, i don't know how long my sore arms and body can survive. As a matter of fact, i found myself admiring the stay-home-moms so much. They take care of the kids 24/7, i sincerely admire them. and i admit i can not do it.
