Like every year, we went to my friend's house for thanksgiving dinner. It was a big gathering, always has a lot of kids there. Now, friend's youngest son, Timmy, is 2 and a half years old (he was born on the same day as Peter, though two years ealier--03/22/03) and he is really different from his sister and brother (who are both so quiet and obedient). He stays home with mom everyday, but speaks fluent English; he is very good at computer games, using the mouse easily; he looks so small for his age, but he moves really fast, running around with Yaya and even playing with kids around 10-year-old... While we were standing in the kitchen talking, Timmy asked daddy for a M&M candy. His daddy took out a steeless can with a tight cover and handed to him. He tried to open and failed, then without a single word, he opened a drawer on top of his head and managed to get a spoon out without even looking inside the drawer. We were really stunned at what happened next. -----He put the spoon edge parallel to a side of the round cover, carefully but successfully, lifted the cover, I mean, with such a professional skill. It all happened so fast that no one even noticed or remembered that he is only two. The loud chatting noise around seemed to stop right for that second, and then everyone began to howl..... On the way home, Lei still could not stop commenting:" It's just so different, for two kids of similar ages, -- Yaya, we always tell her to close her eyes since the candies' place is adult's secret, she just can keep on doing it even if we don't ask her to anymore whenever she wants a lollipop; and for Timmy, he is just unbelivable, ....."
